Dr. Ethan Elliott is a multidisciplinary, multi-role, ultracold atom expert leading the project’s Engineering Model Testbed (EMTB), an earthbound copy of the instrument where the experimental techniques fundamental to science operations are developed, explored, and adapted to the Cold Atom Lab's unique architecture. In addition to the EMTB, he is also a co-investigator of ultracold chemistry experiments to be performed aboard the Cold Atom Lab, and the Deputy Flight Instrument Lead where a detailed knowledge of every testbed subsystem becomes key to resolving anomalies and accomplishing mission goals. With now over fifteen years of experience in experimental atomic physics, Ethan first joined the Cold Atom Lab team as a Caltech postdoc in 2014 after receiving his Ph.D. from Duke University.
